My youngest daughter works part time in a doggy daycare
place, Little Paws Inn - they only take in little dogs, anything under 18” from
shoulder to the floor. One of her
favorite, regular customers was leaving to move to Colorado with her parents so
she bought a going away chew toy and made the cutest going away card to go with
it. She asked me to drop it off for her
the next morning as she had class. On
the way to the store I had a brilliant idea – could I make a series of
dog-themed cards and sell them at Little Paws??
I proposed the idea to my daughter and she discussed it with her
boss. Not only did she say yes but she
asked if I could make her up about 2 dozen thank you cards for her to send to
the Vets in the area that have been recommending her business. Their business cards and logo features a green
background with a yellow dog house and a puppy on top. So I did a riff on that, I took green card stock and border punched it with paws and put a yellow dog house on top of
that. I didn’t have anything that would
work for the puppy on top so I left that off but picked up the little flower
that was on the logo.
This is how they turned out:
The cards were the easy part. After I had those assembled I decided to try
and make a box, using my Envelope Punch Board to put the cards in for
delivery. I had seen several YouTube
videos on this and it didn’t look that hard.
Maybe it was me, maybe it was my dimensions but it took me 7 tries and
about 3 hours to finally get one I was happy with.
